Currently a Sr. Renewable Energy expert at K.A.CARE, with expertise in PV and CSP technologies. Previous work in the field of photovoltaics includes R&D in the field of multijunction solar cells which was partly funded by the US Department of Energy and NREL. This work resulted in developing the world's first solar cell to exceed 40% efficiency under concentration in 2007 which was followed by leading a multidisciplinary team to commercialize the technology. Raed obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has several publications in addition to 29 issued patents in the field of advanced electronics and solar cells, with prior work experiences in high tech companies such as IBM and Boeing.
