Badr Ikken received an engineer degree in production technology and solar energy systems from the TU-Berlin. He wrote a thesis on manufacturing of hard materials. During 8 years, he worked in the Factory Management Institute (IWF) in Berlin, as researcher and he served in the Fraunhofer-IPK as project leader for several industrial projects for Siemens, INA-Schaeffler
Between 2008 and 2010, Ikken served as CTO of Lunos-Raumluftsysteme. He developed and launched two new production lines in Germany and expanded the production in China.
In September 2010, he joined the Moroccan Solar Agency - MASEN as Industrial Integration and R&D Director. 2011, He co-founded the Moroccan Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN) and He established the largest solar research and innovation platform in Africa, Green Energy Park as well as the Green&Smart Building Park, dedicated to energy efficiency in buildings, smart-grids and e-mobility. He is also developing the Water-Energy-Nexus Park, biomass platform AgroEnergeTIC and Power-to-X platform greenH2A.
Ikken is a member of the national commission of Hydrogen and supported the establishment of the greenH2 cluster in Morocco.
Badr Ikken is Vice-President of the green economy commission of the Moroccan Confederation of Enterprises and represents Morocco in several commissions.
