Waqas Hussain has several years of interdisciplinary experience in the PV industry - covering design, EPC, project management and business development across Europe, Middle East as well as South Asia regions. His expertise lies in the intersection of technical feasibility, economic viability, and regulatory framework assessment of renewable energies - especially utility-scale PV - thus leading to the identification and implementation of business development and deployment strategies. He is currently working as Business Development Manager with Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen in Regensburg, Germany focusing on PV applications and increased integration of renewables into the grid by using Voltage Regulating Distribution Transformers (VRDTs). He received a master's degree in Renewable Energy Management from the University of Freiburg, Germany in 2012 and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology Taxila, Pakistan in 2008.

He served as Chief Executive Officer of KOSTT, Kosovo's electricity transmission system operator (2022-2025), where he contributed to major developments in regional energy integration, electricity markets, BESS development, and cooperation with ENTSO-E. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of ARKOS LLC, a company specializing in modular and customized container solutions for energy, infrastructure, military, and commercial projects. Under his leadership, ARKOS is expanding its manufacturing capabilities and international presence, with projects across Kosovo and European and Middle East markets. Evetar holds a strong professional focus on energy markets, infrastructure development, strategic management, and business growth, with particular interest in renewable energy and battery energy storage systems.

I have worked with renewable energy for over 13 years mainly projects within BESS, Solar PV, Wind, and EV Charging worldwide. In this role, my responsibilities being a subject matter expert within BESS with vast experience in battery energy storage technologies with everything from BESS contract tenders, contractor evaluation, and negotiations, as well as design and commissioning reviews. I also specialize in the safety mechanisms of BESS and how to mitigate them efficiently. Having joined S&L in Aug 2023, coming from a technical lead position within DNV, my journey has been marked by active involvement in various projects including independent engineering, owner's engineering, conceptual design, solar resource evaluation, energy yield assessment, reliability, technology assessment, O&M, project development, contracting strategy, and financial evaluation.

Dr. Mutasim Nour is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Energy Engineering at the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Heriot-Watt University Dubai. He also serves as the Associate Director of External Relations and Industry Engagement and as the Director of MSc Energy and Renewable Energy Programmes. With extensive academic experience, Dr. Nour previously held the position of Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham's Malaysia Campus before joining Heriot-Watt University. Dr Nour served as a consultant to several companies in the areas of energy storage, efficiency control of AC Machines and energy saving solutions. Dr. Nour's research interests span renewable energy and demand management, energy efficiency, energy storage, power electronics, and fuzzy logic control. His currentresearch projects focus on the integration of renewable energy into power grids, energy demand management, renewable energy storage systems, and the application of artificial intelligence in power systems. Dr. Nour has an impressive research portfolio, with over 55 peer-reviewed journal and conference publications. Through his work, he continues to make significant contributions to advancing sustainable energy solutions and fostering industry-academic collaboration in the field of engineering.
